Ledecky Wins 800, Qualifies for Pan Pacs on Night 1 of Nationals

NCAP is off to a great start after one day of swimming at the 2018 USA Swimming Phillips National Championships.  Katie Ledecky led the way with a victory in the Women’s 800 Meter Freestyle.  With the win, Ledecky will represent the United States at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships.

Jack Conger also competed in an A Final.  He touched 3rd in the Men’s 200 Meter Butterfly.  Megan Byrnes also had a top 8 finish on day 1, as she took 7th in the Women’s 800 Free.

Sam Pomajevich won the B Final in the 200 Fly.  NCAP placed a pair of swimmers in the C Final of the 100 Meter Freestyles.  John Shebat finished 18th in the men’s event.  Morgan Hill took 24th in the women’s event.  Izzy Gati and Abby Harter both swam in the 18&under Final of the Women’s 200 Meter Butterfly.  Gati finished 6th in the heat.  Harter was 7th in the heat.
