NCAP Kicks Off Junior Nationals with 2 Wins on Night 1

NCAP swimmers won two events on the first night of the 2018 NCSA Junior Nationals in Orlando, Florida.  Steven Thalblum took first in the Men’s 100 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 49.93.  The team of Sinead Eksteen, Madeline Laporte, Isabella Gati and Katie Mack went 7:14.59 and won the Women’s 800 Yard Freestyle Relay.

NCAP placed 4 swimmers in the top 5 in the Men’s 100 IM, as Sean Conway and Luke Durocher tied for 3rd and Kyle Barker took 5th behind Thalblum.  Phoebe Bacon provided NCAP’s other top 8 finish, when she took 5th in the Women’s 100 IM.

Two additional 800 free relays finished in the top 8 for NCAP.  The women’s team of Claire Nguyen, Jasmine Hellmer, Erin Quinn and Olivia Jubin took 4th.  For the men, the quartet of Thalblum, Hugh Robey, Brandon Hamblin and Ryan Catron came in 8th.
