NCAP Places 4 Relays in Top 8 on Opening Night of Winter Nationals

NCAP kicked off the 2017 December championship season with the relay session on night one of the 2017 USA Swimming Winter Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.  NCAP placed all 4 relays in the top 8.

Both women’s relays finished 5th.  First, the team of Phoebe Bacon, Georgia Johnson, Brooke Matthias and Katie Mack swam on the 4×50 Yard Medley Relay.  Bacon’s lead-off split of 24.66 was the fastest backstroke split in the entire field.  Later, Bacon, Mack and Matthias teamed up with Madeline Laporte in the 4×200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

The men’s team of Sean Conway, Philip Manoff, Steven Thalblum and Hugh Robey similarly finished 5th in their 4×200 Free Relay.  Earlier in the night, Conway, Kyle Barker, Luke Durocher and Brandon Hamblin took 6th in 4×50 Yard Medley Relay.

Through one night of racing, NCAP is in 2nd place overall and 1st place among club teams.  The meet continues through December 2nd. Click here for real-time results and live streams.
