A large number of NCAP swimmers competed in open water at the 2017 Swim for the Potomac at the National Harbor. Tori McCullough, Chase Travis and Molly Watts were the overall winners in their races. McCullough swam in the 5K, Travis competed in the 10K and Watts raced the 2.4 mile. Addison Zerkle added a win in the 12&under age group of the 500 meter race.
NCAP took 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 13-18 5K, as Brooke Travis and Will Tenpas finished directly behind McCullough. Alden Zerkle and Isabelle Hirschberger came in 2nd and 3rd in the 12&under 3K. Amelia Buswell and Maya Lopez similarly finished 2nd and 3rd in the 13-18 3K.
