Conger Wins 200 Fly, Qualifies for World Championships on Night 1 of Nationals

NCAP is off to a great start on day one of the 2017 US National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Jack Conger led the way with a victory in the 200 Meter Butterfly.  With the win, Conger will represent the United States at the 2017 World Championships in Budapest.  Conger’s time of 1:54.47 was also good enough for a PVS Open-Age Resident Record in the event.

Sam Pomajevich took 10th in the 200 Fly behind Conger.  In the Women’s 200 Fly, Cassidy Bayer finished 14th.  A pair of NCAP swimmers placed top 16 in the distance events, as Isabella Rongione came in 13th in the Women’s 800 Free and Matthew Hirschberger took 12th in the Men’s 1500 Free.

NCAP alum Katie Ledecky will also represent the United States in Budapest.  She won the Women’s 800 Meter Freestyle and finished 6th in the 100 Free.

The meet will continue through Saturday. Click here for more information, including full results and live streams.
