Andrew Gemmell Qualifies for World Championship Team at Open Water Nationals

Four NCAP swimmers competed at the 2017 USA Swimming Open Water National Championships.  Andrew Gemmell finished 2nd in the 5K on Sunday with a time of 57:26.08.  Gemmell will represent the United States at the 2017 Fina World Championships in Budapest, Hungary this summer.  This will be Gemmell’s 4th appearance on a World Championship Team.  Gemmell also went 1:58:38.828 in 10K on Saturday and finished 4th.

Isabella Rongione qualified for the 2017-2018 USA Swimming Open Water National Junior Team in the 10K.  Her time of 2:07:23.119 was good enough for 13th overall and 2nd among 18&under swimmers.  Rongione finished 14th in the 5K with a time of 1:02:22.83.

Victoria McCullough and Chase Travis also competed for NCAP.  McCullough was 38th in the 10K (2:24:32.796)  and 44th in the 5K (1:06:27.94 ).  Travis finished 22nd in the 10K (2:11:54.586) and 23rd in the 5K (1:04:35.24).
